Athboy Community School
On Thursday May 4th, 53 third year students and teachers Mr. Mills, Miss Fairbrither, Miss Moore and Mr. Magner went to Lilliput Adveture Cente on the shores of Lough Ennel in Westmeath for their schol tour.
In lovely, bright conditions, the group were met off the bus by their instructors for the day and taken into the forest and grounds for an Orienteering Challenge. The students had to use maps to find a series of checkpoints and navigate ther way around the course. Afterwards there were more team building games in the forest incuding a very competitive series of Capture the Flag rounds.
Next the students were spilt into smaller gropus to do various activities like Aeroball, Rock Climbing and some braved the breeze to go Kayaking on Lough Ennell.
After break the day comcluded with a walk through the bog with some bog jumping. The students returned tired but happy to the main courtyard for well earned pizza and soft drinks bofore hopping on the bus back to Athboy. A very enjoyable day out was had.
